Kono looks too complicated we have placed substantial bids for both Greizman and MS, time will tell if we get them. Offered Southampton some of ours to sweeten the deal. On the Davies delay was told its about paper work being okayed by the FA, no problem and as my source says its probably because the carrier pigeon got shot down over the Atlantic.:rolleyes:http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/styles/default/xenforo/xenforo-smilies-s...) 0px -21px no-repeat rgb(252, 252, 255);" />

on leaks: not everything leaks out, funny how our club works for example my info is that we have Signed Vorm, Davies and Lasalles but nothing has been confirmed. Also that we want a LWF, CH and Schniderlin. That siggi is gone and we have bids on the table for 4 other players who may be sold if we get our targets.
Nothing on your man [Griezmann] than though.

on outs: Kaboom going nowhere, bids are for full backs and midfielders.

on cb's: Verts likely to sign new deal but won't hang around if we don't succeed. Kaboom has to prove fitness and Daws will be off, Chirices still unproven.  jasper on kono:

Also that 2 or 3 defensive players should come in before the season starts. (Although our source didn't say wether that included yesterday's signings or not) Lamela has been treated like a star and it's given him a real boost. He feels more part of a team and club now and is really excited and driven for the coming season - he really appreciates how much Spurs fans want him to succeed and he wants to return the faith paid in him.

Quick couple of bits: We have definitely made an official offer for MS, Pool are still a way off Saints valuation for Lovren(Has gone quiet), J-Rod still very much on the gaffer's radar. Still no contact from the club to Villa for Vlaar, although as my mate told me this morning the agents have been told how much their players can leave for so, it doesn't mean we haven't been speaking to the agent.Would just add the fee for Lovren is just north of £20mil which is why Pool have backed off, and why we probably have shown little interest lately.

Well here goes. Had another great day and I actually managed to get a couple of lines in the water myself today, now the boys are starting to get a bit of experience. 6 of us in total today including my mate, an agent, an ex player turned NT physio, and a guy who works for a very large international agency(the fixer), where he looks after the players on their books based in the Midlands and in the South. As such this is a contrasting set of info and is NOT as well placed on some other ITK that I may well be going against, looking briefly at what has been posted by others in the last 24 hours.

Firstly Knoplyanka

Not shown any interest at all since a very small enquirey in January. There has been very little interest in him at all and I don't want to give too much away but he is not very highly thought of off the field by very many at all. His attitude and workrate are poor and from what I can gather any potential interest died with Poch's appointment. I'd say this one has next to no chance of coming off.

Depay

None of them thought there was an actual link at all for this guy, but I must admit none of them could say for sure we weren't interested. The reason I posted "No" in my previous update was more to do with the next couple of bits though, regarding other players than it is actually about Depay.

Firstly J-Rod...

Is very happy to stay at Southampton.........because his rehab is going exceptionally well. He still very much wants to come but realises things are difficult atm and also understands he needs to be fully fit to have any chance to play in our side as it is far more competitive than Saints. He has no intention of signing the contract that has been on the table for weeks and will more than likely join in January if things don't happen this window(again due to his injury neither party is in any real rush to push this through)

Secondly

Poch is happy with Nacer. was always the intention that he would be the rotation option for J-Rod/new LWF. Very very doubtful he will go from what I was told, and if I was a betting man I'd actually be expecting him to play more often than not.

Thirdly

The price of Depay. Now no numbers were mentioned but i got the impression the price would be very high. The reasoning was that the bigger clubs in Holland have decided(mutually) that their league is as good as the league in say Portugal and yet thir stars seem to be valued at a fraction of the price. Expect them to hold out for more in the future.

Schneiderlin

Is proper naffed off. refusing to do anything that doesn't benifit himself. He is training but only to make sure he is fit. Not taking part in team exercises and his agent is there all the time instructing him on what he can and can't do. They all seemed to think he would have to get a move and that Krueger would end up backtracking bit by bit very soon. It was Apprently KL that said he could go and not Krueger, and at the end of the day she signs the cheques. As one of them said, she probably doesn't even know what position he plays".

Mateo

The "fixer" works for a huge agency with many players from South America on their books. I asked him about the Mateo situation and how difficult it actually was to do a deal like this. He said all third party deals are tricky but this was not a particularly bad one as legally it was all in order. According to him some of them are such a mess of legalities that their are teams of international lawyers working on them to get all the details in order before the governing bodies will even look at the possibility of the moves being allowed. It is not always just an agent or club involved either and their have been occasions that involve some fairly immoral and even sinister business men, and it makes some deals almost impossible to the EPL in particular. He thought this one was very much above board though and being as all parties wanted the move it would very likely happen.

Verts

Was told again his contract was done almost a week ago. No idea why it hasn't been anounced though, but it seems the club (not just ours) are very much playing the media game now and are waiting to announce things in order to produce the biggest possible impact in media circles.

I'm sure there will be a little more as I remember it, but that was basically it as far as Spurs were concerned.

Cant divulge anything on MS or MM as too sensitive.still confident on 1 of them.
Also outgoing players is sensitive too as will become apparent, nothing sinister but still in negotiations.
I think the best thing that could come off for all parties if the money is right is.. QPR to get Townsend as we will then go for one of the many names that has been reeled off in the press.(cant spill on who though)!!

MM and MS personal terms have been agreed and it is down to the clubs to agree the fees i.e. a case of who blinks first. On MS I have information from my normal source and a friend who has strong links with all South Coast teams and both think it will get done. My friend has heard whispers that MS's agent is threatening to take Southampton to Arbitration for restriction of trade.

I posted early in the matchday thread that I had had a fairly in depth convo with my mate this morning but would wait topost it until after the game because i wanted to explain it all as I heard it.

At the start of Poch's new adventure he sat down with Baldini and Levy and they went through what he thought he needed, and also where he thought we could lighten the load in the squad(position wise). Poch targeted the back four as his largest area of concern and also said he would like 2-3 upgrades(his own players in if possible. He obviously knew we weren't opperating on a Oil rich budget, and the three of them worked worked out what they believed to be the players in questions values Poch had a lot of input in this because he knew the players best.

The back four is seriously being adressed with 2 in already, and at least another one, possibly two still to come in. The others(the ones that Poch specifically wanted have proved much more difficult than we expected and although Poch is frustrated by this, he is happy that Levy has gone OVER the amounts they discussed originally, trying to get two of them in.

Outgoings

Nothing new really, Sandro and BAE and Dawson are just not in Poch's plans going forward. Even if they stayed they would get minimal game time(BAE none at all, he is done) and even then it would need quite a few injuries for this to happen. He doesn't see either Lennon or Townsend to be a good fit at WF although they both could offer something in certain games and is happy to keep hem but doesn't need both. Levy is a big fan of Azza though so make your own minds up on which one will be pushed more than the other. That said I think if good offers came in both could go. Naughton, Holtby, Soldado, and a couple of others would all also be available at the right price but Poch is happy for them all to stay.

J-Rod

I know there has been ITK from others saying he is not for this window, but I have been very reliably informed that Poch is pushing for him now. His rehab has gone very very well(as I have been posting) and it is believed that he will be back playing properly in the next 3-4 weeks. With his contract length and his refusal to sign a new deal he could well be available now, and Poch does want him, and his versatility is a big plus to being able to reduce the squad.

MS

I can't go into too much detail but I heard something that makes me far more optomistic about us getting him than say others that are getting their info from inside of Spurs. He has NOT accepted he is staying there and is STILL pushing for the move he was promised. His tweet slagging the club is STILL on his oficial twitter timeline and his people are looking into certain aspects of his contract that may have been broken by the club, and I can't say much more than that, other than it may be best for everyone to let him go.

Like I said nothing particularly new but I thought it was worth posting in detail especially the stuff regarding Levy going OVER Poch's valuations to get him the players he wants.

Sorry I don't have any incoming names for you all, but I would be amazed if we don't bring in at least two more before the window closes. As always I just pass on what I hear and like all of you hope we pull off what we need for Poch to get us to the next level.

Who: TrixWhen: 27th AugustWhere: COYS Mazio done. Schneiderlin A lot closer than it was this time last week. Saints are bending under the pressure from the player his representitives and RK himself, who would rather his own people who want to be there, I am told this is not dependant on Andros going the other way although both clubs would quite like it to be the case. I personally think this is very likely to happen now. J-Rod Poch still very much wants him in now although very unlikely if we get MS. We will certainly be back in for him at a later date though if we don't get him now. Brazillians Sandro is very likely to be off(deal basically agreed), and Paulinho not far behind him (although most likely a loan with an option), both to Italy is what I am told. Asked about the Prem teams that were rumoured in for Pauline, and drew a blank. Soldado As I have already posted, is available but no one is getting close to what we want for him. Had an offer to loan him which was knocked back as it doesn't benefit us at all. Think he is likely to still be here when the window closes. We are looking at options in case this happens but it's doubtful so if it does, don't expect a big name brought in to replace him. Any decent offers for the fringe players are likely to be accepted as long as it suits us numbers wise. Very doubtful any others coming in on permenant deals unless others leave. Only position Poch feels is week is WF(both sides) so players that offer us options are being looked at, and could well be a possibility. Was told Welbeck was not that likely as things stand.

Musacchio got too complicated with third parties/agent messing around so it looks like that's been shelved, although you never know.

Schneiderlin. The club still believe we can get this done and have even offered three different players although no specific names were offered. The Goat was told if this gets done it'll be very late.

Things at the club are on the up, everyone is very happy under Pochettino, the players love him and love working under him, there's a genuine feeling amongst the players that things can be achieved in the next year or two and everyone wants to be part of that. The club are trying to offload three or four, Sandro, Townsend, Paulinho and Lennon can go for reasonable money if they can be convinced they won't be getting much game time.

The Goat has also been told we're already working toward January (Rodriguez and Moreno) and also that Baldini has been travelling around Europe the last few weeks to both find buyers and younger talent from Italy and Spain.

The Goat says this VERY reluctantly, there were also two other players that QPR are interested in but names weren't offered up*

*And that isn't a cue for twenty six thousand guesses.

Off topic : så tror jeg personligt at Levy han har mega travlt i morgen ...

When DEADLINE DAY

[@GB160 with the spot]

Just had a brief convo with my mate, and got a few small bits.

MS (From MS side if things).

There are a few clubs showing interest and as I have already posted they have two firm bids in for him from two clubs. Am told he would still choose Poch(not Spurs) over both the other clubs though, so it's all about whether we really want him or not. Ali says we are still interested(which is great news), but the fact is MS still wants out badly and this very well may be a case of getting a fee agreed quickly or it may never happen.

Outgoings (very good source close to Poch)

Loads available, and interest in most of them. Getting rid of some of these is the key to who we bring in. Barring WF Poch is very happy numbers wise, and it is only the quality he is looking to upgrade. He would happily upgrade at, CB, CM and CF IF we can move the relevant players out first. I must stress though that Poch is very happy with the squad as is, but is also aware that it has contains a few players that are not really up to what he wants them to achieve. All the names have been mentioned countless times Sandro, Naughton, Lennon, Townsend, Ade, Soldado, Paulinho Fryers plus a few younger fringe players(loans) could all be part of the permutations of 4-5 out. Been told it definitely won't be a case of both Lennon and Townsend, or Ade and Soldado, and that the priority for today is making sure we are covered and balanced throughout the squad as best as we possible can be.

J-Rod/Wing Forward

I know Jjetset has said no chance but Poch still wants him in now. Fairly sure a WF will happen today as it is the one area that Poch believes we don't have covered. He doesn't believe either AT or AL are close to being an option playing from the left, and if there was a rabbit to b pulled today it will be one that play in this position if the likes of Welbeck/J-Rod prove to be unsuccessful.

*Opinion* if Saints are willing to sell we need to move quickly this morning if we want him, before things get too far down the line with one of the other interested parties. This is still doable from what I hear so now it is all down

I know a lot of you will be upset by the window, we clearly need improvements in CM, LWF and CF.
It is not that easy, it is not just down to finances.
Poch wanted to reduce the squad we have gone some way to doing this, he wanted to start building from the back and we have bought in a keeper and 4 defenders.
He is keen to improve in other positions and we were never going to get all targets, am sure we will be back in for J-Rod and MS in January as well as looking for alternatives.
It is important that we keep reducing the squad so that Poch can get the squad he wants, there are whole host of players that he does not see as a long term part of his plans, hopefully we will be able to get rid of some of these in Jan.
Poch has a reputation as a good coach and he will now have to work with what he has but he was always happy to do so, as I said he never thought he would get everything sorted in 1 window. Patience is required by the fans and the board, if anybody failed this summer it was Levy not selling players so we never had the space to bring in others.

I have been quite privileged the last few months in the fact that I have been privy to quite a lot of info regarding what has been going on be hind the scenes at the club. I have posted pretty much everything I have heard and most of it in as much detail as I could.
Something worth repeating though is...................
Poch is very happy with the squad he has got!
Levy was heavily criticised last Summer for having no coherent transfer plan, so instead this year we set out a list of targets that Poch thinks will improve squad in the positions he thinks need upgrading. With CB we have had a preferential list which we have worked our way through until we have gotten our target because Poch didn't have faith in what we had and the ones at the top of the list became unobtainable for one reason or another. That is a very different situation to the other signings we wanted.
There is no point in just bringing in players that the manager really doesn't fancy, because come January/next summer we will be looking to move them on again, (which is so very difficult) just to get the players that were top of the list as of now. Yes I think if we had pushed earlier we could have got Welbeck, but the fact is Poch wanted J-Rod which is why we dallied over getting Welbeck done on loan. As time moved on it became apparent that the loan option was no longer viable and it would have to be a a full transfer if we were to get him. No way were we going to pay in excess of £15mil for Welbeck, when the manager would STILL want Rodriguez in January.
IMO both deals for the Saints boys were possible, but it would have meant throwing a lot more money at the players than even Poch deemed they were worth(financially speaking). Yes it has been a disappointing end to the window but I will just reiterate Poch is very happy with the squad as is. I am underwhelmed with today but I'd rather wait and get the manager what he wants than another scatter gun approach like we had last summer, and we have addressed quite a few issues this window already. LB, RB, CB and CM have all been in Poch's opinion upgraded and that is the key to what he needs to do his job properly.
He is being backed even if it doesn't look like it from the outside, buying players he didn't want just for the sake of buying them would not be backing him, it would have been exactly the opposite.
And for anyone that puts this down to Levy PR spin, my info comes form sources close to Poch and to the Southampton end of things, not Levy or the club itself.

wasnt sure where to put this, or if its been posted already but trix posted this and since theres a fair bit about both jan & kab i put it here

trix:
Some bits and pieces I was told yesterday

I had a decent convo yesterday with my man on all things Poch and Saints. I have already put a couple of bits up and was going to post the rest yesterday but then thought it was best to wait until all the post match hysteria had settled.
Anywho, Poch was thoroughly p*ss*d after the WBA game. Had all the players in for an absolute rollicking, and told them all they needed to sort themselves out because he was here to win, and he would not put up with players who did not feel the same way. It has become very apparent to him that training and match day attitudes are very different in some of the players. They have been excellent in training and have taken to his methods and ideology very well. It doesn't make sense that come match day so many of them just revert to their old ways and style of play. Andros is very much his biggest frustration in this respect.
I have said all along that Poch doesn't fancy him at all and doesn't think he fits in how he wants to play, but apparently he has upped his game in training, but come match day just forgets/ignores everything he has been asked to do. Poch has seen enough in training to think he can cut it, but he needs to turn that into match form very soon because he is still very close to being pushed out of the door the way things stand.
The players were told very bluntly that if any of them thought they were better than his philosophy, they were not. He has been told he has full control over who plays and who doesn't and those not in his plans will be transferred, or left to rot. Levy has told him he will be given time to get the squad to where he wants. Whether that is just typical vote of confidence stuff who knows, but that is what he was told last week.
Jan
Was not happy at being left out of the Prem starting 11's. He has NOT kicked up a fuss, and has NOT thrown his toys out of the pram. His main concerns are regarding his Belgian position and he knows he needs to be playing at at least Prem level regularly to get in what is a very competitive Belgian side. He almost missed out playing in the WC because of last season and hardly playing at CB. Poch had him in last week and explained it was simply a case of not wanting to play Fazio with another relatively inexperienced CB so split him and Kaboul just to get Faz settled. He will be first choice to play with Eunice as long as he is playing well. Verts understood and was very happy with this. Whether this has anything to do with his contract situation I have no idea.
Kaboul
Daws and Sandro were both very popular within the dressing room, and there were a few murmurs from other players being heard around the place bringing things down a notch. Kabs was the one who stood up in front of them all and told them all to stop whining and that they needed to pull together. Players move etc etc, Spurs carry on and get stronger. It as very well received by the players as he is obviously very well respected. Defended Poch's position, and yet also came across as one of the lads, hence the final tick for him getting the armband.
KO time yesterday I have mentioned elsewhere, Sky over ruled the Met bizarrely.
MS also mentioned elsewhere, was very close to being agreed at £18mil prior to his WC call up. He gets back and the price is £27mil. All because of how much Yanited and Pool paid for Shaw and Lalanna.
Expect us very much in for Rodriguez and another ST in January.
Remember this was all pre yesterdays match, maybe some of it has sunk in

update: Oh and expect to see more kids bumped to the first team squad before too long even the really young ones. even the u18's have been told if they are good enough they will play

Had long conversation about all things Spurs. Paulinho will be allowed to go in January if the right bid comes in. Brazilians not the flavour of the month in Pochs world. Still interested in Jay Rod and MS but MS might not want to come now! We are offering a choice of 3 players in part of any deal.
H Moreno still a target seems Fazio and Strambouli were make does, Lennon and Townsend could also be sold if bids come in. Expected to loan out a number of fringe players especially if we are out of cups come end of January.
Not such a happy camp these days Poch is now acting as bad cop and told players he won't put up with lack of effort and concentration.

Only 4 (seniors) were told they were surplus, but there are others that would be let go should an offer come in. As Ali says though (and I have posted weeks ago in this thread) Stanbouli (sic) was a Poch target from the start. Mason has really impressed both on match days and in training which is why he's climbed in the pecking order. Expect more from the U21-18's to be in the squad(and playing bit parts) before the end of the season though, as Poch believes there are 2-3 that are very capable.

(In answer to ' until we are more risk adverse in the market we will never have the squad we want.'

You are right, however this hopefully is about to change. As you already know Ali I have been reluctant to post a lot of what I am being told for various reasons, but would like to chip in a little bit..

Like it or not for the next few foreseeable windows it will be more of the same. When I say this I mean there will be zero net spend, and we have to sell to buy. Now all that is said this is not all doom and gloom because things are slightly different than they were before because the transfer policy is slightly different now that Poch is here. The more we sell the more money Poch has to spend, and the more players that are promoted from the accademy the more money he has to spend on fewer players. Meaning the quality can in theory be higher as can their transfer fee's. This was always the idea behind Bulls Cross, and the huge changes that have been made in our youth policy over the last 5 years or so. It's also one of the main reasons Poch a manager known for promoting youth was brought in.

Of course this doesn't mean we can easily sell all those we want out, or that our wage bill will miraculously increase, but it is hopefully (from what I have been told) a slightly different playing field, and certainly a step in the right direction. It is of course another reason I believe Poch will be given time, that and the fact this was Lewis's prefferred appointment.

A parchment arrives containing a few snippets from the diminutive one. The information is not uniformly positive, so if you dislike reading negative information, please close this thread now.

There was a confrontation after the Stoke game between Adebayor and Kane. Most of the team sided with Kane, but Kaboul and a couple of others didn't. Kaboul then went to see the manager to voice "the squads opinion" on Kane and his supporters. It was clear to MP that Adebayor, Lennon and Kaboul do not speak for the rest of the squad. The younger players are not happy with the way the three most senior players have been behaving, training and playing.

MP bitterly disappointed with more than half a dozen of the squad who have decided the extra hard work they are being asked to do hasn't paid off, so they won't bother to do it. He wanted to give them time to buy into his plans, but they have chosen not to do so. Today's team selection is a reflection of this reality.

Adebayor and Lennon are refusing to accept a move. They've told MP that they don't care whether they play or not. They'll stay at home, train with the reserves or sit on the bench, as long as they collect their wages.

Lennon only made the bench today because of the injuries to Townsend and Chadli.

Unsurprisingly it's proving most challenging to move many of our players expect Vlad to go permanent, and Paulinho on loan. Both to Italy and both to top Italian sides. Inter showing the most interest in Paulinho as things stand.

Baldini suggested we hire Paul Mitchell. MP supported this idea. Mitchell is seen as someone with the potential to become a DOF in the long term. He wants to 'apprentice' for a few years with someone experienced in transfers, dealing with agents and players, etc.

Each member of the triumvirate will have control over their own area of the transfer process. MP will decide on the roles he needs for his tactical schemes. Mitchell will then identify players (both young players and established players) for those roles, and will recommend them to MP, who will either approve or reject each of those recommendations. For players that get MP's green light, Baldini will go out and try to sign them. MP trusts Mitchell explicitly.

Moreno and Rodriguez (subject to full recovery) are still the top two on the list for January, although Mitchell has already identified other possibilities for MP to look at.

Apart from the above, there's no news.
